The mobile phone company simply titled "Three" is one of the world's largest 3G UTMS cell phone carriers in the world. They are head-quartered in Hong Kong, however they provide service in the United Kingdom, Australia, Austria, Denmark, Hong Kong, Macau, Indonesia, Italy, and Sweden. Founded in 2002, they are owned by Hutchison Whampoa. The United Kingdom was one of the first areas that Three offered service to, starting in 2003. After the first 33 months of operation, Three already had over 3 million 3G customers. They also launched a video mobile network in 2003 and have been very successful with that as well. Today, after spending over £400 million to upgrade its networks, Three has the highest coverage level in the United Kingdom at about 97% coverage of the population.

Three offers many different services for customers. It offers customers different levels of coverage for phones and can include things such as SMS, MMS, internet access, voice mail, and call waiting. Plans are customizable depending on the needs of the customer. Three also offers mobile broadband for laptops and tablet PCs. Two speeds are offered, one is the normal speed, and the other is the premium speed, which Three states is about 40% faster than the normal speed.

Three continues to expand and grow with new customers and products every day and continues to provide cell phone coverage to the United Kingdom and many parts of the rest of the world.
